For 11 years Maria was one of the senior associates and main advisors of the Mergers and Acquisitions team of Eversheds Sutherland Ots & Co. Eversheds Sutherland is an international law firm with member offices in more than 30 countries all over the world. She is one of the most experienced M&A advisors in Estonian legal market.
As of March 2019, Maria is a partner and Attorney-at-Law in Uplegal Law Firm created by former Eversheds attorneys.
Maria has advised hundreds of M&A and corporate transactions during more than 11 years, both international and local transactions, with the transaction values ranging from tens of thousands up to tens of millions. Maria’s extensive experience includes the largest deals in recent years.
Maria has advised various transactions and companies operating in the fields of telecommunication, IT & technology, manufacturing, real estate, financial institutions, private equity, wholesale, pharmaceutical companies, waste management companies, hotel chains, start-ups.
Maria has a long-term experience upon leading and executing international projects in cooperation with law firms, attorneys and experts from different countries all over the world. She has led teams, project-managed and conducted several legal due diligences, prepared the sales of holdings in companies and other M&A transactions, including cross border transactions, also advised in international business expansion and investment extensions into Estonia.
Maria has elaborated and developed M&A transaction support instructions, databases of sample contracts and documents, and educated and “brought up” the young lawyers and attorneys who are now high level specialists in Estonian legal market.

Lennart has provided legal services to his clients for more than 15 years. For 9 years Lennart was one of the senior associates and main advisors of the Dispute Resolution team of Eversheds Sutherland Ots & Co. Eversheds Sutherland is an international law firm with member offices in more than 30 countries all over the world.
As of March 2019, Lennart is a partner and Attorney-at-Law in Uplegal Law Firm created by former Eversheds attorneys.
In his main area of expertise Dispute Resolution, Lennart has helped clients to achieve their goals in hundreds of complex disputes both in pre-trial and in court, also in arbitration and in Labor Dispute Committee.
Lennart’s fields of expertise include Dispute Resolution in pre-trial, court, arbitration and Labor Dispute Committee, Real Estate deals, Construction law, legal regulation and licenses of Strategical Goods and Criminal Law (white collar crimes). In addition, he has extensive experiences and knowledge in Family Law and planning of Proprietary Relations and advising transactions and dispute resolution related to this.
Lennart has extensive experience in advising Real Estate transactions since year 2000.
Lennart has unique experience in advising the application for and obtaining of the licenses for transactions with Strategic Goods in large volumes.
Additionally, Lennart has helped numerous clients to solve the matters of proprietary relations by advising the planning and conclusion of marital contracts and contracts on division of joint property, also successfully representing the clients in negotiations and before the court.
